MoonPay PayBox Delivers X Handle Tied Wallets for Crypto Receipts

Users who connect their X account in MoonPay PayBox receive a Solana and EVM wallet tied directly to their handle.

This setup allows anyone to send crypto to the X handle through Grok without needing a traditional address. The feature became available on Oct. 7, 2026.

Wallet Connection Process

A holder downloads the PayBox app and links an X account to activate the wallet. The same connection works through the PayBox web app settings page. Once active the handle functions in place of a long wallet string for incoming transfers.

PayBox operates as a non-custodial wallet built for AI agents. Holders keep control because the wallet creation uses MoonX MPC technology. The private key stays inside a secure enclave and never leaves the device.

Security Controls in Place

Above-threshold or sensitive operations require a passkey approval before they proceed. Every action is recorded as an audit event so holders can review activity at any time. A holder can revoke any agent client immediately if needed.

The design keeps daily use simple. A holder shares only the X handle when expecting funds. Grok handles the routing on the sending side.

Practical Holder Outcomes

Holders gain a cleaner way to accept crypto. They avoid copying and pasting addresses for each transfer. The handle stays constant even if the underlying wallet details remain hidden.

PayBox posts confirm the connection step works in both the mobile app and the web settings. MoonPay posts state that the wallet becomes available right after the X account link completes.

The non-custodial structure means holders sign their own transactions. MPC generation and passkey checks add layers that limit exposure during routine operations.

Holders who set up the feature on Oct. 7, 2026 or later can begin receiving transfers through Grok on the same day. No extra approvals or external registrations are listed as requirements beyond the initial account connection.

Ongoing Use and Revocation

Each operation stays logged for later review. If an agent client is no longer needed the holder can remove it without affecting the wallet itself. This keeps the setup flexible while the handle remains the public point of contact.

The result is a wallet that behaves like a standard Solana or EVM address on the network side yet appears to others only as an X handle. Holders manage keys and approvals through the same PayBox interface they used to create the link.

MoonPay and PayBox documentation outline these steps without additional costs or third-party services mentioned for basic handle-based receipts.
